We all look forward to seeing who the guest performers are every weekend almost as much as waiting to see who gets voted out!! Well, we can fill you in on who will be appearing on the show over the next couple of weeks.
A huge XFactor success story and wow.ie favourite, Leona Lewis, will be debuting her single Happy from her new album Echo. Leona will appear on the show on Sunday, 8th November. Accompanying Leona on the same night are the Black Eyed Peas, both will be singing live on eviction night, we can’t wait!! So don’t forget to tune in to that show next Sunday.

The week after Leona Lewis and the Black Eyed Peas we will see Shakira, Shakira.. (as the song goes!). Shakira is set to perform her new single Did It Again on Sunday, 15th November. We can’t wait to see what old snack hips herself will wear.
As for this weekend, well, lets not spoil the surprise
We’ll be bringing you a fashion update after the live show so till then, Happy Halloween!

Poor old Rachel finally managed to impress the judges and receive some positive feedback AND look scrubbed up! We loved Rachel’s look last night and her much improved hair due. We’re still not sure she’s a favourite as she just doesn’t seem to connect with her audience so, we won’t be surprised if she is in the final two again tonight – hopefully Jamie will be the other one and he will get the elbow, what a bore… so you’ve got big hair, big deal!
Enough Jamie bashing and back to the point… Rachel’s look last night. She really did look a million times better and one of the tips from her make-up artist was lashes! False obviously. Now this is a tricky one so you really are better to go to a salon to avoid any nasty accidents. Going for the temporary lashes will cost a lot less than the lashes that last for a couple of months. Phone around first, you’ll find a huge price difference between salons. Be careful as to the lenght of lash used, there’s a fine line between great lashes and looking like a transvestite!

However, if you are going to give the DIY option a go here’s some eye make-up advice from Adam, the make-up artist responsible for creating Rachel’s look. Adam started out by using an eyeliner with brush application as you can create an even flick and create thick or thin lines. Adam used L’Oreal Paris Super Liner. MAC also do a great liquid liner we previously tested.
After the liquid liner Adam applied mascara advising you apply right from the root as opposed to just the tip so you get maximum volume. (If you need your lashes to last a couple of days I would advise you don’t wear mascara under the lashes) Adam used L’Oreal’s Extra Volume Collagene Mascara, guess who their sponsors are?? We put several mascaras to the test on your behalf so check out that previous post before you purchase.
Adam used strip lashes on Rachel which would probably be the easiest option for DIY. Check the length before applying to make sure it fits, you may have to cut a bit off. Adam recommends leaving the glue to dry for a couple of seconds once you’ve applied it to the lashes, then he says to use tweezers for precise application. Again, if you are trying to get a couple of days I would recommend no mascara and apply the false lashes to your lashes, avoiding touching the eye lid so your natural oils don’t make the glue come un-stuck. This glue is designed for this use so don’t freak out as you are sticking them down!
The final touch to Rachel’s eyes was eye shadow, Adam used L’Oreal Paris Studio Secrets shadow in grey to give a subtle shimmer. He recommends applying the shadow over the whole lid sweeping upwards as you reach the outer corner to open the eye. If you feel it looks too heavy just soften it by rubbing your finger lightly over it and remember, practice makes perfect!

For anyone watching XFactor over the weekend you’ll have seen Rachael wear this trend, not that it did her any favours with the voting public!
You’ll also have seen Cheryl Cole commanding our attention in her Sergeant Major emsemble to launch her solo career. We are not so sure this was the best look for Cheryl but can forgive her just this once. We could barely see her under that hat!

This look was sent down the runways of Ralph Lauren, Temperley and Alexander McQueen to name just a few and seems to keep going. Therefore, we decided to go in search of the military look on your behalf saving your little legs the trouble!
The first offering, a grey Funnel Neck double breasted military coat from Topshop, a good length to keep us warm as winter creeps in. Topshop have plenty of variations on this trend.
Next to that we have a red Military Coat from our friends at AWear, this is also available in grey and priced at €90. AWear currently have 30% off all coats and jackets.
Warehouse have this cropped version in black and priced at €97 but that’s about it on the military coat front from them.
Our favourite is the red Ted Baker military pleat wool coat on asos.com, with it’s tie waist detail and teamed well here with a hat and this seasons other must-have boots!

If you aspire to having Lucie’s fresh faced look then here are tips from the make-up master, Jackie Tyson, who creates Lucies’s flawless look every week.
Jackie uses a sheer foundation and covers any blemishes. (See our product review for recommended products) The final touches are added to the skin by applying blusher and a sparkly powder which also acts as a highlighter.
Jackie then moves to Lucie’s eyes starting with a gel eye liner using a brush to apply for more control. She used L’Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Blue Eye Intensifier and smudges a shimmering eyeshadow to soften the liner for a more natural look. The eyes were finished with L’Oreal Telescopic mascara.
To complete Lucie’s natural look Jackie applied a subtly peach coloured gloss. All very easy when you know how, XFactor’s site gives more details..

Anyone else notice Cheryl Cole‘s stunning gold dress on X Factor? It was truly stunning, a Versace Atelier gold silk mini cage dress.
A dress to die for with metallic sequins, tulle embroidered bodice and full cage or structured skirt. Most of the detailing on this dress was done by hand and was one of the best we’ve seen on the show to date.
The stylists on this show really get it right for the judges, not so sure they always do well by the contestants! Single mum Stacey springs to mind, what were they thinking of giving her a fringe, never mind the dodgy outfit…
Rachel’s top was right on trend and reminded me of Balmain. Can’t wait to see what fashion delights are in store for next week.

28 year old Ashley Cole, husband of Girls Aloud and XFactor’s Cheryl Cole has been up to no good again. Cheryl who is currently climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relieft is said to be furious and Ashley was on a clubbing ban for obvious reasons!
Apparently the Chelsea and England footballer was ‘detained’ after launching a tyrade of abuse at officers in London. The abuse started on a photographer until he turned his attention to officers.
Cole was allegedly held for four hours to sober up and issued with an £80 fine for being drunk and disorderly. Ashley was attending an annual charity event, Chelsea Football Club & Armani Charity Fundraiser.
I wouldn’t like to be in his shoes on Monday when Cheryl returns!

Britney’s back!
It was great to see Britney Spears slowly getting back to her old self on Saturday nights XFactor. She’s had such a rough time of it over the last couple of years so I’m sure we’re all secretly willing her on.
Britney had a body to die for on Saturday night, nothing moved that shouldn’t have!! How is this possible?? That black Madonna-ish outfit looked so cute on her. Although she did mime her way through the performance who cares, she looked great. It just seems her confidence hasn’t totally returned yet but one step at a time and she’ll be back on top of her game.

Irish owned Chica Boutique certainly went down a treat with Alexandra Burke and Ruth Lorenzo, contestants on the XFactor.
Judging by how absolutely amazing they look every Saturday night I think I will be heading to Chica to see if there’s any little tricks left in the bag for the rest of us!
