Street Style – Xposed!

-1

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Coast’s Autumn Winter collection yesterday where I met the lovely Karen Koster as she was about to film for Xpose.  I’ve met Karen a couple of times and she really comes across as a genuinely nice person, probably a favourite Xpose presenter here at wow.

Karen looked taller than her usual petite self wearing a serious pair of nude platforms teamed with a dress from Karen Millen and black opaques.  She looked fantastic especially considering she admitted to getting ready in the taxi!

Below is a sneak preview of what to expect modeled by what must be two of the tallest women in Ireland (that coming from a mini person!).  Expect tailoring, metallics, sequins, feathers and yes great dresses.  We’ll bring you more on that later…

Street Style Stylist – Cathy O’Connor

-1

I had the pleasure of meeting one of Ireland’s nicest and well known stylists at the launch of the Warehouse Summer ’10 Collection last week.  Cathy O’Connor is the kind of woman you watch on TV and instantly warm to, she has that likeability factor as Simon Cowell would say that so many people on TV try hard to have but miss it completely!  Cathy is regularly on our little screens working with XPose, Ireland AM and RTE from time to time.

Well rest assured ladies she is as nice if not better in person, really friendly and open to being pestered as she was trying to suss out the new collection – will come to that in a min!  Cathy was dressed top to toe in black and feeling the heat as it was one of the first warm days we had.  Thigh high boots coupled with a parka style coat cinched in at the waist with a thick black belt made her look effortlessly cool as opposed to overly styled.  Cathy said she loved the collection and was trying on several items that day so with her seal of approval I followed suit!

To sum up what to expect from their collection… tees, stripes, pastels, lace, chiffon, denim, floral, fabulous collection of dresses and playsuits.  Accessories were also impressive with bib necklaces, chunky bangles and quirky pieces that all the stylists (most well known) were snapping up on the morning.  I had know intentions of shopping so left with… a fitted short linen jacket with stripe detailing on the cuffs, leggings, three tees in pastel shades one with ruffle detailing on the shoulders, two stripe dresses (to wear as tops!) and a leather detail bangle – not bad considering the ‘not buying anything’ mantra running through my mind on the way in!

So to conclude, 1. Cathy O’Connor gets the wow.ie thumbs up as all round nice gal and 2. check out the new collection at Warehouse :)

Street Style – Playsuit Style

CIMG1416

Sarah is showing how to do playsuits minus the mediterranean heat!  The khaki green silk playsuit is from the new range at Oasis for €50 and the boots are Topshop.  I totally forgot to ask about the locket – darn!  If you are a fan of bright colours this season check out the nail varnish collection at Oasis with oranges, bright yellow, vibrant coral, blue… not sure what they are like lasting wise but really bright fun colours.

Street Style – Celebrity Style

CIMG1410

I was lucky enough to attend the Karen Millen 2010 press event this morning and boy are we in for a treat.  Expect a beautiful soft colour palette and accessories with a high end look…. we’ll bring you more on that later.

Enter Sonia Lennon – and enter she did in serious style!  Sonia looked so good she reminded me of A-lister Kylie Minogue with her petite frame and funky ensemble.  This photo does not do what she was wearing justice, trust me – photographer I am not!  Sonia was rocking this seasons colours of yellow and green along with bejeweled shoes to DIE FOR, not forgetting the obligatory tote.  Her hair was pinned up in a this seasons tossed manner but still looked groomed.  Big thumbs up to Sonia for her style and obliging me with a picture :)

Rocking Street Style

What I Wear « Whisty Blogs Dublin Fashion_1267485388507

One of our favourite Street Style images yet.  This is such a great rock look and made to look so easy!  We didn’t know which to choose from whisty blogs so we were a little cheeky and took two!  Penneys, Topshop and Zara being the main highstreet stores responsible for these looks. The second look shows how you could work polka dots, shorts, tights and print trends all in one sitting…

The staff at the Kildare Village outlet kept themselves busy last week!  This snowman certainly has a flair for fashion working the faux fur hat :)

Street Style … Winter Woolies

Shona is photographed here wearing two key trends from this season, leather and knitwear.  Both are definitely welcome trends over the last few days.  The general consensus here is a thumbs up for all, most favoured is the snood and the make-up was equally admired!

Casual Street Style

Great picture, very casual and laid back style (always handy for lazy days!).  The bag adds the needed splash of colour echoed discretely by the earrings.  Love the natural style of make-up.  One thought on the outfit – it looks a little chilly for December weather :)

Street Style Tweed

-1

Talk about wind swept and interesting! Renata incorporates a couple of this seasons looks here in tweed and dogtooth or houndstooth, depending on who you talk to.

We can thank Alexander McQueen for leading the charge on bringing back this design detail again this season.  The check colouring works really well on Renata and has a real cosy winter feel to it.  However, it’s definitely not one of those trends you can clad yourself head to toe in!

Street Style is all about accessories

What a fantastic close up photo!  Ingrid’s own personal style is the real focus of this photo. The accessories are what make this look from the scarf, hat, chunky necklace and the leather handbag just out of shot, you get a real sense of how Ingrid’s style is so unique – even from a black and white photo!
