Lipsy Loves XFactor

Xfactor251009_5

Young British fashion label Lipsy have become a regular must have amongst celebrities but in particular our XFactor favourites.  Let’s not forget we’ve also seen the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Kimberley Stewart, Alesha Dixon, Kimberly Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls), Duffy, Lady Gaga, The Saturdays, Tulisa (from N-Dubz), Paris Hilton and Lily Allen all donning the label. Enough about them, let’s get back to the people we miss most in our lives!

Stacey Solomon, 20 year old single mum from Dagenham, Essex and our favourite ditzy girl is the biggest Lipsy fan of all the contestants and we here at wow.ie reckon it’s a label that definitely suits her.  Just look how far she has come since she first auditioned for the show!  Even when she is dressed down she still looks great.

18 year old ‘nice girl’ Lucie Jones from Pentrych in Wales, has since been signed up to Select Model Management who have helped launch the careers of top models such as Agyness Deyn and Stella Tennant. Lucie’s confidence grew during her time on the show and she’s gone from country girl to rocking the rock chic look.

What’s Rachel Adedeji doing now? We’re not sure what she is doing now or if we are even interested!  She did say she wasn’t interested in working with Rihanna as “We’re too similar there’s not enough room for the both of us..”!  Apparently there are people interested in working with her so the best of luck to her. This was definitely Rachel looking her absolute best on the show in a great little Lipsy animal print dress.

Should you want in on the Lipsy look we had a look at the selection available at BT2 and it’s definitely worth checking out. They’ve covered most of the trends with Lipsy including a white boudoir chic dress, sequins black and white animal print figure hugging dress and a favourite was their white bally doll cocktail dress.  They’ve also covered the retro, wrap and 80′s inspired trends so if you have a big night out looming and are on a budget they are worth a look.

Salsa Jeans Now At BT2

salsa jeans

Denim is one of the hottest trends for Spring/Summer 2010 with top designers such as Stella McCartney, Anna Sui, Herve Leger, Chloe, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and leading the charge D&G, all incorporating their take on denim within their collections.  The most on trend style in jeans is ultra skinny (God damn it!).

Baring this new trend in mind it may be of interest to know that BT2 have introduced Salsa jeans to their collection this season.  Why should this brand excite us more than any other new brands they introduce?  Because of the big promises they make.  These jeans promise to ‘slim the abdominal area, shape the waist, accentuate the curves and push up the posterior’!  They are considered to be as good as a cosmetic operation without the surgery – so with promises like that they are definitely worth a closer look! Let us know if you have tried on or own a pair of these jeans and if they live up to their promise…

P.s. … not that any of their models need a ‘push up’

If you are like me and about to run out the door to start your Christmas shopping then here’s a couple of things that may help.  Avoca is always a good place to find something a little bit different and they do some great retro pieces plus DE-LICIOUS food! They cater for everyone in the family with everything from cook books, furniture, throws, fashion, jewellery, gardening and quirky bits and pieces.  There’s a great selection of hot water bottles all costing €39.95 and the cute gingham socks come in various colours, €12.95.  The best of all has to be the Scarf on a spool!  What a gorgeous idea and something different – €39.95.  If you are heading towards Dundrum Village check out Cottonwood, they are more of a furniture store but have some lovely little different little bits & pieces too worth checking out.

Friis at BT2 have a little of everything from nighties to leopard print brollies so you should find something there for the sisters! We picked out their make-up bag at €55 and a great stocking filler, the life saving double sided fashion tap, €10. Don’t forget to write ‘have a Happy Friis-mass’, sorry couldn’t resist!

MakeThumbnailBrown Thomas have this cute ‘festive fun’ jumper from Whistles in aid of the ISPCC and Christina Noble Foundation with €30 from every purchase being donated.

TK Maxx as always have a great selection of labels minus their usual hefty price tags.  Available now you’ll find various types of Radley handbags or a diamante print scarf by Moschino at €24.99.  It’s a place to hit early before the crowds descend.  And ladies, lets remember our dignity and try to avoid cat fights :)

Littlewoods are great with something for everyone and you won’t have to leave the house.  They are promising to have your gifts placed before the 19th delivered to you in time to wrap.  Most of the book stores are offering deals on books so you can cross a couple off your list that way.  Hopefully that helps a little, I’m off now to start the madness!

Xmas gift ideas at BT2

861872

We’ve had a quick shop around BT2 for some xmas pressie ideas other than the usual make-up and perfume and here’s what we came up with…

To start, for the girl that has everything, this Juicy Couture Laptop case is something different for €145.  If you have a sister off on a ski holiday after crimbo I’m sure she’d love the faux fur Kangol winter hat with ear flaps and, it won’t break the bank at €45!

Should your sister be less tomboy and like to dress up both of the above incorporate key trends this season with animal print, sequins and bows so you should get serious brownie points here!  The Dolly shoes by Kurt Geiger are bang on trend costing €125.  Not sure if you would team both together,  you could look like you fell off the stage of a theatre production!  The Lipsy tiger print sequins dress is priced at €70 and would probably work better with plain black court style shoes.

Chunky knits are everywhere this season and this Selected wool cardi would work well with skinny jeans and flat boots, €179.95.  The black padded Friis chain bag has a definite Chanel feel to it without the Chanel price tag – €70.  All in all you should be able to cross off a couple of pressies from your list at BT2.

To start is the Manoush sheer flower apllique dress with leopard print detailing, a theme with their collection this season. This dress will cost you 410. The bag by Pauls Boutique is a fantastic burst of colour and will work with everything and is really well priced at 60!

There’ve great pumps, boots or heals in store which will finish it off. All these items are available at all BT2 stores.

We had to include this beaded silver top by Free People, not part of the look but we loved it! What a great party top which could be worn so many ways, comes in at 125.
