This is for Acne at 24, totally forgot to reply sorry! I would imagine this breakout is hormone related after coming off the pill and would suggest staying off the pill to give your skin a chance to balance out. It can take a few months to get back to normal. It’s hard to say though without actually seeing your skin, you should pop in to a salon/skin centre as ask for advice or mention it to your doc on your next visit.

Sometimes this can be hormonal. If you’re pregnant or taking the contraceptive pill it can cause hyperpigmentation (darker patches). Be sure to use a high, good sun screen.

Hi Sue
I just got off the pill in January and now I’m breaking out all over my cheeks. Is it the hormonal changes? Should I go back on the pill? Please help!!!

On your next visit to the GP just show your doctor and if there are any concerns you will be referred on to a Dermatologist but it’s probably just hyper-pigmentation, however always best to get a check on anything unusual.

Where abouts do you have the patches? Perfumes and deodrants can cause pigmentation on the skin, would that tie in with where the marks are?
